C–H Functionalization represents a paradigm shift in the way we think about putting together organic molecules. A large part of the Centers mission is to bring C–H Functionalization into the mainstream of organic chemistry and one of the key ways we are seeking to do that is informing future generations of scientists by engaging students from K through 12.
Many of the Center labs provide tours of the labs, host demonstration days or send members out to the schools to present our cutting edge chemistry. This not only spreads the word about the Centers research, but also provides an excellent opportunity for Center members to present to new audiences and knowledge levels.
