Jiyeon Jang travels from Emory University to the University of Washington

Summer 2013

The Chemistry Summer Undergraduate Research Program (CSURP), has been developed by the CCHF to provide a mechanism for undergraduates to engage in C–H Functionalization research and engage in research exchange experiences.

Jiyeon Jang, an undergraduate student at Emory University working in the Davies Group, was the recipient of one of the 2013 CSURP fellowships and travelled to the University of Washington in the summer of 2013. jiyeon spent the summer working in the lab of Prof. Christine Luscombe, exploring the application C–H Functionalization to polymer synthesis.

During the program Jiyeon had the opportunity to participate in Center virtual meeting, present her work to the full membership and engage in local REU activities.
