K-12 Students from local schools were welcomed into the lab of Prof. Jin-Quan Yu at The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI), La Jolla California. The students were given a tour around the advanced research facilities at TSRI and given a lab demonstration that focused on how molecules can be separated.
A different graduate student was responsible for leading the tour on each occasion and the high-school students had the opportunity to observe the various pieces of equipment being used and question the students working.
