PFI | Exploring Non-traditional Careers – Careers for Chemists Outside of Academia

11/2013

This panel discussion gave the CCHF and CCE students and postdocs the opportunity to ask questions of some career trajectories beyond the typical academic route.

Judy Wellington, CEO and President of the Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences of West Virginia and Nadine Gruhn, Managing Director of the Center for Enabling New Technologies through Catalysis gave an introduction and overview of their career paths and some of the challenges and rewards that they have discovered along the way.

The floor was then opened up and students from across the CCHF and CCE asked questions about their day to day working life, how they translated their training to their occupation and how they approach these careers.
