03/2015

On Sunday, March 29, Prof. Simon Blakey gave a great public science talk on The Surprising Truth of Strychnos Plants at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History in Atlanta, Georgia. Blakey shared the history, chemical composition, and significance of extracts from the Strychnos Family of plants in poisons, cocktail mixers, and clinically approved pharmaceuticals. Over two dozen people, from a range of backgrounds and ages, attended the talk.

The talk was co-sponsored by the CCHF and featured in concurrence with the Power of Poison Exhibition, which was on view at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History through May 3, 2015. It is a traveling exhibition organized by the American Museum of Natural History in New York and may be coming to a Science Center or Museum near you.
