Graduate Student Exchange | Zack Ren travels to the University of Wisconsin from Emory

11/2016

Zack Ren, a postdoctoral fellow in the Davies Group at Emory University travelled to the University of Wisconsin to work in the Berry Group on a collaborative project exploring the synthesis and application of RhBi and MoMo complexes as catalysts in carbene C–H insertion chemistry.

Many of these complexes require inert conditions for their preparation, Zack took advantage of the glovebox facilities and the knowledge of the students in the group to prepare a range of these catalysts and assess their use in reactions with donor/acceptor carbenes for C–H functionalization.
