Prof. Sukbok Chang, from the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), in Daejeon, South Korea came to visit Emory University to find out more about the CCHF. Prof. Chang has just received an award from the Institute of Basic Sciences (IBS) to create a new Research Center in South Korea focused on C-H Functionalization.
This new institute is called the Center for Catalytic Hydrocarbon Functionalizations and will be based at KAIST. Not only does this highlight the increasing recognition C-H Functionalization is receiving on the global stage, but also presents an excellent opportunity for creating a global research network between the Centers.
Prof. Chang gave an excellent summary of his recent work in the C-H Functionalization field and an informative description of how the new Center in South Korea will develop and build.
