In the summer of 2014 Evans Taylor, an undergraduate student from Georgia Institute of Technology, who worked as part of the France Lab, Atlanta, USA, part of the CCHF, travelled to work in the Ooi Lab at Nagoya University, Japan, part of the ITbM.

Evans research revolved around the application of organocatalysis to C–H functionalization problems.
