Shentan Chen was a postdoctoral scholar in the Musaev Group at Emory University between 2013 and 2015.

Shentans work focused on collaborative work with the Blakey group on the development of Ir-catalyzed acceptor-only C–H insertions.

In 2015 Shentan began to work in scientific software development.
