Monoprotected chiral amino acids have recently been established as a class of ligand scaffolds for effecting Pd-catalyzed enantioselective C–H bond activation reactions. However, to elucidate the mechanistic details and controlling factors of these reactions, more comprehensive studies are needed. This report details collaborative investigations from the Yu and Musaev groups using both experimental and theoretical observations to learn more about this system.
This project again highlights the power behind bringing the disconnection and theoretical groups together to provide a more detailed picture of a system, not only to understand it better, but also guide future systems.
