CCHF Presentation at University of Alabama Huntsville

11/2016

In an effort to broaden participation and increase visibility of the CCHF Center, we are embarking on an initiative to build and create networks with chemistry departments at small liberal arts colleges and minority serving institutions. This initiative will see likely facilitate an increase in the diversity of Center graduate students and postdocs.

Recently, Dr. Lloyd Munjanja was invited by the National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE) Chapter at University of Alabama Huntsville to give a talk on the research opportunities in the Center for Selective C-H Functionalization as well as how to apply to Center sites for graduate school. The EOD Director also promoted the CCHF summer undergraduate research program. He also talked about the expansion of the Grad Prep Club virtually to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in the Alabama area. The EOD Director also promoted the Center at two other schools in the Huntsville area; Oakwood University and Alabama Agricultural & Mechanical University.
