One of the core missions of the CCHF is to increase the awareness of synthetic organic chemistry to a broader audience. The CCHF furthers this mission through partnering with various organizations in outreach initiatives.

Recently, during the 2017 SACNAS conference, held in Salt Lake City, Utah, the Center partnered with the Leonardo Museum of Creativity and Innovation in an outreach event. The event was possible through the collaborative effort of the Directors of Education, Outreach and Diversity from 3 NSF Centers for Chemical Innovation, Dr. Lloyd Munjanja (CCHF), Dr. Danielle Watt (CaSTL) and Christopher Parsons (CCE). The CCHF members from the Sigman and Du Bois research labs brought hands-on chemistry activities and spent a day interacting with over 100 middle and high school students and their teachers from local schools.
